AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PITTS S-2/13.

Pitts S-1 and S-2 Series Aeroplanes

AD/PITTS S-2/13 Fuselage Mounted Main Fuel Tank
Filler Cap - Modification
2/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 12 February 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1984, required the fuel cap to have a positive retention device.  The AD was raised after a forced landing from fuel exhaustion as a result of the fuel cap becoming lost during flight.  The AD compliance was before
30 June 1984.  As all aircraft would have been modified by now, the AD is no longer required.
