AD/Pitts S-2/12 Front Horizontal Stabiliser Support Tube Modification Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PITTS S-2/12.
Pitts S-1 and S-2 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/PITTS S-2/12 | Front Horizontal Stabiliser Support Tube - Modification | 1/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 15 January 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD, issued in 1980, required replacement of the front horizontal stabiliser support tube with a heavier member in accordance with Pitts Service Bulletin No. 14 to prevent cracking of the weld at the attach bushings. The AD compliance was within 100 hours time in service after 31 December 1980. As all affected aircraft should have replaced the front horizontal stabiliser support tube by now, the AD is no longer required. |
