AD/PHZL/39 Amdt 1 Propeller Damper Replacement Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PHZL/39 Amdt 1.

Propellers - Variable Pitch - Hartzell

AD/PHZL/39 Amdt 1 Propeller Damper - Replacement 4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in1976 requiring replacement of C-1576 propeller damper assemblies fitted to Hartzell HC-C2YK-2CG( )/( )C7666A-2 and HC-C2YK-2CLG( )/( )JC7666A-2 propellers.  Hartzell Service Bulletin (SB) 110A was noted and has since been cancelled.

Compliance was before installation on an aircraft following each reconditioning completed after 30 April 1976.

As AD/PROP/1 requires overhaul of propellers to be in accordance with manufacturers instructions and the TBO for propeller dampers is contained in Hartzell Service Letter (SL) 61-61 (presently at Revision X), this AD is considered to be no longer required.
