AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PHS/16.

Propellers - Variable Pitch - Hamilton Standard

AD/PHS/16 Blade Retaining Rings 4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in1994 against Hamilton Standard Service Bulletin (SB) No. 14SF-9-61-25 Revision 3 or 14RF-21-61-34 Revision 2, as applicable to Embraer 120 or CASA CN-235 aircraft, requiring a modification by replacement of composite (Rynite) blade retaining rings with aluminium rings that have greater impact strength.

Compliance was at next propeller removal or by 31 December 1994, whichever occurs first.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, and that affected propellers would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
