Propellers - Variable Pitch - Hamilton Standard

AD/PHS/13 Hub Rework 4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in1989 against Hamilton Standard Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) No. 14SF-61-A22 requiring modifications by rework or replacement of Hamilton Standard models 14SF-5 and 14SF-7 propeller hubs fitted to DHC-8 and Aerospatiale ATR 42 aircraft due bearing race seats and bolt torque plate seat being incompletely shot-peened during manufacture.  Without modification, the hubs would have had a service life limit of 200 flight hours.  Affected propeller hubs were to be returned to the manufacturer for rework.

Compliance was unless previously carried out by 30 April 1989 or prior to completing 200 hours TIS whichever occurs earlier.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, and that rework or replacement of the affected propeller hubs would have been done by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
