AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PFP/6.

Propellers - Fixed Pitch

AD/PFP/6 McCauley Propellers - Modification 4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in 1968 against McCauley Service Bulletin (SB) No. 67 requiring a modification to all McCauley 1B235/BFA7862 propeller models fitted to Beech model A23-24 aircraft by reducing the propeller diameter to improve vibratory stress levels following several manufacturer reports of propeller blade tip separation.

Compliance was before installation in an aircraft following next overhaul completed after 11 July 1968.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated and that all affected propeller blades would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
