AD/PDH/3 Model 3/1000/2 Hub Inspection Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PDH/3.
Propellers - Variable Pitch - De Havilland
| AD/PDH/3 | Model 3/1000/2 - Hub Inspection | 4/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD was raised prior to 1965 against De Havilland Technical News Sheet series CT (104) No. 31 requiring an inspection for circumferential cracking around the periphery of each barrel arm of all model 3HFB (3/1000/2) propellers fitted to DH 104 (Dove) aircraft. The requirement document also contained revised operational limitations, was issued in 1949, and has since been cancelled due contents being transferred to manuals. Compliance was at each daily or overnight inspection. The requirement document also noted that should oil leakage be experienced, the barrel must be immediately inspected for cracking. Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, the requirement document has been cancelled and no defect of this type has been recorded on the mandatory reporting system, this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
