AD/PA-46/12 Amdt 1 Alternate Air Control Linkage (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/PA-46/12 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Model PA-46-310P with serial numbers 46-8408001 to 46-8608067, and 4608001 to 4608025. |
Requirement: | 1. Determine whether or not the alternate air valve linkage Piper Part No. 765-198 has been installed on the left side of the engine air box. If the alternate air valve linkage is not installed, install the Alternate Air Valve Modification Kit offered in Piper Service Letter No. 985, Part II. |

Compliance: | Within 100 hours time in service after the date of effectivity of this Amendment. |
| Compliance with the original issue of this AD constitutes compliance with this amendment. | |
| This Amendment becomes effective on 9 April 2009. | |
Background: | The original issue of this AD in 1986 applied only to PA-46 aircraft which had the alternate air valve linkage installed in accordance with Piper Service Bulletin This Amendment matches USA AD 87-04-01 by applying to PA-46-310P by serial number and mandating installation of the Alternate Air Valve Modification Kit. |
