AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-42/9.

Piper PA-42 (Cheyenne III) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-42/9 Landing Gear Upper Bearing
Retaining Pins and Strut Assemblies
4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This AD specified replacement of landing gear components in accordance with Piper SB No. 779A and USA AD 85-08-05.  Compliance was required within 100 hours time in service after October 1985.  USA AD 85-08-05 (Amdt 39-5040) applies to PA-31 and PA-31T (Cheyenne I and II) but not to PA-42 (Cheyenne III).  Piper SB No. 779B was raised to address the PA-42 separately.

Hence, this AD is no longer required.
