AD/PA-38/11 Amdt 1 Stabiliser Pulley Bracket Mounting Fitting and Empennage Attachments Inspection Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-38/11 Amdt 1.

AD/PA-38/11 Amdt 1 Stabiliser Pulley Bracket Mounting Fitting and Empennage Attachments - Inspection 13/2008

Requirement:	CANCELLED.
This AD is cancelled on 18 December 2008.
Background:	This unique Australian AD specified a periodic dye-penetrant inspection of the stabiliser pulley bracket mounting fitting, and a periodic check of the torque of 18 stabiliser-to-fin and fin-to-fuselage attach bolts.  The dye-penetrant inspection and the torque check were required at intervals not exceeding 100 hours and 500 hours respectively.  These periodic activities were similar to the once-only activities specified in Piper SB No. 637 and USA AD 79-08-02.  Using an AD to mandate these periodic activities is no longer warranted.
