AD/PA-36/8 Amdt 1 Forward and Aft Wing Attachment Fittings Inspection and Modification (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/PA-36/8 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability:

All models with serial numbers 36-736003 to 36-7560044 except aircraft incorporating Piper Kit Part Number 760 933.

Requirement:

Inspect, and alter if necessary, the forward and/or aft wing attachment fittings in accordance with the instructions section of Piper SB No. 471A.

Note:  USA AD 77-02-06 (amdt 39-2816) refers.

Compliance:

At intervals not exceeding 500 hours time in service.

Compliance with the original issue of this AD constitutes compliance with this Amendment.

This Amendment becomes effective on 12 March 2009.

Background:

The original issue of this AD in 1975 specified compliance with Piper SB No. 471.

Amendment 1 excludes aircraft incorporating Piper Kit Part Number 760 933, nominates SB No. 471A, and identifies USA AD 77-02-06.
