AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-34/29 Amdt 2.

Piper PA-34 (Seneca) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-34/29 Amdt 2 Main Wing Spar Attaching Nuts 11/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 23 October 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD specified inspection for cracks or splits in nuts fitted to wing spar attaching bolts in accordance with Piper SB No. 602 at each scheduled inspection for issue of a maintenance release.  SB No. 602 specified a once-only inspection in addition to the 100 hourly inspection specified in Piper Inspection Report No. 230856.  Making these periodic inspections mandatory using an AD is no longer warranted.
