Piper PA-25 (Pawnee) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-25/12 Amdt 2 Exhaust System - Inspection 12/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 20 November 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD specified inspection of the exhaust system in accordance with Piper SL No. 324C at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service.  USA AD 68-15-01 mandates SL No. 324B for many types of Piper aircraft, but not the
PA-25.  The recent service history of the exhaust system in the PA-25 indicates use of an AD to mandate periodic inspection of the exhaust system is no longer warranted.

The periodic inspection of the exhaust system specified in USA AD 67-14-07 for some PA-25-235 aircraft was mandatory in Australia until 1974 when AD/PA-25/26 was cancelled.  It has now been restored in AD/PA-25/43.
