AD/PA-23/40 Amdt 1 Front Spar Inspection Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-23/40 Amdt 1.

AD/PA-23/40 Amdt 1 Front Spar - Inspection 2/2009

Requirement:	CANCELLED.
This AD is cancelled on 12 February 2009.
Background:	This unique Australian AD specified periodic inspection for cracking of the inboard end of the lower flange of the front spar.  Compliance was required at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service.  This AD was based on Australian experience in 1970.  There is no similar Piper service document or USA AD.  Using an AD to mandate this periodic inspection is no longer warranted.
