AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-22/5.

Piper PA-22 (Tri-Pacer and Colt) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-22/5 Rivets in Aileron Hinge
Bearing Blocks - Inspection
7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This Directive specified inspection of rivets in aileron hinge bearing blocks in accordance with Piper SL No. 216A.  Any dural rivets were to be replaced by soft steel rivets.  This Directive and SL No. 216A have been in force for over 50 years so all affected aircraft would have been inspected, and, if necessary, modified long ago.  Hence, this AD is no longer required.
