AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

Piper PA-20 (Pacer) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-20/16 Amdt 1 Fuselage Door Frame Tube Corrosion 7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This AD was introduced in 1987 and remains unique to Australia.  The need for periodic inspection for corrosion in the door frame tubes is covered by Piper SB
No. 819 and is now well-known among Australian maintainers of the PA-20.  CASA’s Service Difficulty Reporting System contains no evidence of an unsafe condition in this area.  In 2008 a review of unique ADs concluded that this maintenance activity no longer warrants an AD.
