AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

Piper PA-18 and 19 (Super Cub) Series Aeroplanes

AD/PA-18/4 Amdt 6 Wing Lift Strut Forks 4/2006

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 13 April 2006.

Background:

This Airworthiness Directive (AD) required the installation of a “No Step” placard on the lift strut as well as a retirement life of 1000 hours time in service.  Reference was made to FAA AD 93-10-06 and Piper Service Bulletin 157D.  FAA superseded
93-10-06 with AD 99-01-05.  CASA AD/PA-18/13 Amdt 5 refers to FAA AD
99-01-05 which contains life limits, installation of the placard and inspection requirements for the lift struts.  As the life limits, installation of the placard and inspection methods of the life struts are defined in CASA AD/PA-18/13 Amdt 5 this AD could be cancelled.
