AD/OXY/7 Amdt 1 Eros Oxygen Masks (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/OXY/7 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Eros quick donning oxygen masks MA10-( )-( ), MB10-( )-( ) and MC10-( )-( ) with serial number less than 19108. |
Requirement: | 1. If not previously accomplished in accordance with the original issue of this Directive (AD/OXY/7), inspect the masks in accordance with Eros Service Bulletin (SB) MA/B/C10-35-42 Revision 1. |
| 2. If not previously accomplished in accordance with AD/OXY/7, modify the masks in accordance with either Eros SBs MA/B/C10-35-29 or MSE/MC10-35-45 or MA/B/C/F10-35-89. | |
| Later revisions of the above SBs approved by either the French Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC) or the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are acceptable for compliance with this Amendment. | |

Compliance: | For Requirement 1 - Before 13 April 2008. |
| For Requirement 2 - Within 12 months after the effective date of this Amendment. | |
| This Amendment becomes effective on 13 March 2008. | |
Background: | The initial issue of this Directive required an inspection and modification to ensure the integrity of the oxygen mask. |
| This Amendment continues the requirements of the initial Directive but introduces alternate methods of modifying the masks. The Amendment also allows compliance in accordance with later revisions of the service bulletins. | |
| The original issue of this Directive became effective on 3 February 1992. |
