On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/OXY/2.

Oxygen Systems

AD/OXY/2 Scott Oxygen Mask
Filter Retention - Modification
4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1978 against Scott Aviation Installation Instruction dated October 1977, or Mitsubishi Service Note 39, or Piper Vendor Service Publication (VSP) VSP-8 required a modification ensure oxygen mask filter (restrictor) is retained in the Sky Mask during storage and/or use.

Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 30 April1978.

As all affected mask assemblies would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
