AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/M20/36.

Mooney M20 Series Aeroplanes

AD/M20/36 Rear Spar Centre Splice - Inspection 5/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 7 May 2009.

Background:

This AD was raised in 1979 against Mooney Service Bulletin (SB) No. M20-217.  It required an inspection and modification to prevent the possible failure of the rear spar centre section web due to cracking.  Compliance was required within 10 hours TIS for those aeroplanes which had achieved 500 hours TIS and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 500 hours TIS until modified in accordance with Mooney SB No.
M20-217.

There are no records related to this AD contained in the mandatory defect reporting system.  Also, maintenance schedules adequately refer to periodic inspections of wing main spars.  Hence this AD is no longer required.
