AD/LA-4/8 Fuel Cell Capacity and Security Inspection Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/LA-4/8.
Consolidated Aeronautics, Colonial and LA-4 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/LA-4/8 | Fuel Cell Capacity and Security Inspection | 11/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 22 October 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD raised in 1973 against Consolidated Aeronautics Service Letter (SL) L-47A required an inspection to prevent erroneous fuel gauge readings caused by interference of the fuel cell bladder with the fuel quantity sensor, and to eliminate the possibility of a reduction in fuel capacity. Compliance was: 1. Before further flight after 17 September 1973, and 2. Within 25 hours TIS after 17 September 1973 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS. Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, the regular repetitive compliance period, and that no reports of defects have been entered in the mandatory reporting system in compliance with this AD, it is considered that this AD is no longer required. This AD has been reviewed in accordance with the AD review program. The AD required inspections that have been sufficiently promulgated. This AD is therefore cancelled. |
