AD/LA-4/17 Fuel Cell Inspection Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/LA-4/17.

AD/LA-4/17 Fuel Cell - Inspection 7/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 2 July 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1977 against Lake Division Consolidated Aeronautics Service Bulletin (SB) SB No. B58 for LA-4-200 models Serial No's 680, 698 to 809 required an inspection for long necked fuel cell hanger buttons that may permit the cell to detach from the top hangers, possibly causing false fuel quantity readings.  Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 31 May 1977.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected aircraft to have been inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
