BAe Systems (Operations) Jetstream 4100 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/J4100/5 Amdt 2 | Time Limits / Maintenance Checks - Airworthiness Limitations | 5/2009 |
Applicability: | All Model Jetstream Series 4100 aircraft, all serial numbers. |
Requirement: | Action in accordance with the requirements of EASA AD 2009-0052. Note: BAE Systems (Operations) Limited J41 AMM, Chapters 05-10-10, 05-10-20 and 05-10-30 at Revision 31, dated 14 February 2009, or later EASA approved revision, refers. |
Compliance: | As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of |
| This Amendment becomes effective on 7 May 2009. | |
Background: | The Airworthiness Limitations Section applicable to the British Aerospace Jetstream J41 has been revised. Compliance with these requirements is mandatory in order to maintain airworthiness. Amendment 1 was prompted by the assessment of fuel tank wiring installations required by SFAR 88 and equivalent JAA/EASA policy. BAE Systems has introduced a new AMM Chapter 05-10-30 “CDCCL - Fuel System”. CDCCLs have been identified as requirements for continued airworthiness to address the risk of fuel vapour ignition sources remaining undetected. Amendment 2 is issued in response to a new EASA AD, which was prompted by BAE Systems (Operations) limited issue of Revision 31 of the AMM to amend the Structurally Significant Items (SSIs) in Chapter 05-10-10, incorporating all SSI tasks with a threshold above 30,000 flights. |
