AD/J4100/1 Amdt 1 State of Design ADs (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/J4100/1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Jetstream 4100 model aircraft, as identified in the individual Airworthiness Directive (AD) listed in Table 1 and 2. | ||
Requirement: | 1. Unless previously accomplished in accordance with the original issue of this Directive, determine the applicability of the ADs issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the United Kingdom - CAA(UK), listed in Table 1 or the AD issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency - EASA, listed in Table 2. | ||
| 2. If it is determined that an AD listed in Table 1 or 2 is applicable and has not been previously accomplished, perform the actions required by that AD. | |||

Compliance: | For Requirements 1 and 2 - Within 30 days after the effective date of this Directive or prior to the issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness, whichever occurs first. | ||
| This Amendment becomes effective on 20 February 2008. | |||
Background: | The ADs listed in Table 1 and 2 of this Directive require either one time actions for which the compliance date and/or period has passed or multiple inspection/actions until a terminating action has been applied and the compliance date and/or period for the terminating action has passed. CASA has determined that these ADs may be applicable to recently registered or imported Australian aircraft. This Directive is issued to ensure all previous State of Design ADs are complied with. | ||
| CASA appreciates that, due to date of aircraft manufacture or aircraft configuration and modification status, not all the ADs listed in Table 1 and 2 will be applicable to all Jetstream 4100 model aeroplanes. | |||
| The original issue of the Directive only listed two ADs, advice from EASA has indicated that additional applicable CAA(UK) ADs were listed in CAP 476. This Amendment lists additional ADs from CAP 476. | |||
| The original issue of this Directive became effective on 31 January 2008. |
