AD/IAI-W/15 Amdt 1 Structural Inspection Program (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the commencement date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below repeals Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/IAI-W/15 and issues this AD under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998 and subsection 33 (3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Israel Aircraft Industries 1123 and 1124 (Westwind) Series Aeroplanes

AD/IAI-W/15 Amdt 1 Structural Inspection Program 8/2017

Applicability:

All models of Israel Aircraft Industries 1123 and 1124 Series Aeroplanes.

Requirement:

1.    Incorporate the Inspection Requirements of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Structural Inspection Program, as in force from time to time, into section 5 of the aircraft’s maintenance manual.

2.    Comply with the instructions in the Structural Inspection Document.

Note 1:  Israeli CAA Airworthiness Directive AD No. 91-01 dated 11 March 1991 refers (the AD).

Note 2:  A reference in this AD to a document being in force from time to time, is a reference only to the latest / current version of the document.

Compliance:

1.    From the effective date of this AD.

2.    As detailed in the Structural Inspection Document.

This AD commences on 14 April 2017.

Background:

IAI, the aircraft manufacturer, has developed a Structural Inspection Program for the Westwind aircraft to detect cracks which may develop in various locations of the structure.  Undetected cracks may lead to loss of pressure or loss of integrity of the structure.

Amendment 1 is issued to require inspection in accordance with the latest version of the IAI Structural Inspection Program.
