AD/HU 369/24 Tail Rotor Drive Shaft Damper - Inspection 6/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 4 June 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1977 against Hughes Service Information Notice (SIN) No. HN-110 required repeat inspections, rework or replacement of the tail rotor drive shaft damper following manufacturer reports of a limited number of damper blocks not having received a sufficient amount of heat stabilisation to ensure normal service life.

Compliance was:  In accordance with the requirement document.

The requirement was an initial inspection at the next 100 hours of helicopter operation, followed by repeat inspections at each 10 hours of helicopter operation until reworked or replaced.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected damper blocks to have been reworked or replaced by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
