AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/HU 369/1 Amdt 16.

McDonnell Douglas (Hughes) and Kawasaki 369 Series Helicopters

AD/HU 369/1 Amdt 16 Retirement Life - Fatigue Critical Components 5/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 7 May 2009.

Background:

This AD was raised in 1995 to require all components listed in the Hughes 369H Series Handbook of Maintenance Instructions (HMI) Appendix B, and Hughes 369D, 369E, 369FF and 500N Series Handbook of Maintenance Instructions, to be retired on or before the times quoted.  Compliance was required forthwith.

The FAA Type certificate Data Sheet No. H3WE for all models of the Mc Donnell Douglas (Hughes) 369 series contains the retirement lives of critical components (life limited components) and refers to the manufacturers HMI as being essential to the proper maintenance of these helicopters.

As the aircraft’s Type Certificate prescribes conditions and limitations under which the Type Certificate was issued, and these limitations must be complied with, this AD is no longer required.
