AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/HU 269/89.

Schweizer (Hughes) 269 Series Helicopters

AD/HU 269/89 Droop Stop Nut 5/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 7 May 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1988 against Schweizer Service Information Notice (SIN) No. N-213 required a daily visual and a terminating dye penetrant inspection for cracks to Droop Stop Nut P/No. 269A1340.

Compliance was:

1.    Daily Inspection: after 17 December 1987 until Requirement 2 accomplished;

2.    Dye Penetrant Inspection: Within 100 hours TIS after 31 December 1987 or prior to 31 March 1988, whichever occurs first, and for spares held in inventory at
29 September 1987.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected aircraft to have been inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
