AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/HU 269/87.

Schweizer (Hughes) 269 Series Helicopters

AD/HU 269/87 Tail Rotor Attachment Area 5/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 7 May 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1987 against Schweizer Service Information Notice (SIN) No. N-208 required an inspection of the tail rotor fork bolts to determine if suspect bolts were installed that were manufactured between 18 April 1986 and
28 August 1986.

Compliance  was:

1.    Within 10 hours TIS after 30 June 1987.

2.    Before installation in an aircraft after 16 March 1987.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected aircraft to have been inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.

Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority
