AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/HU 269/80.

Schweizer (Hughes) 269 Series Helicopters

AD/HU 269/80 Throttle and Governor Control
Cable Assemblies
5/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 7 May 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1986 against Schweizer Service Information Notice (SIN) No. N-196 (now out-of-date) required a one-time inspection of throttle and governor control cable assemblies manufactured by cablecraft, and repeat inspection of cables regardless of manufacturer.  The inspection requirements are contained in Schweizer 269 Handbook of Maintenance Instructions (HMI).

Compliance was:

Part I: Within 100 hours TIS after 30 June 1986.

Part 2: Within 100 hours TIS after 30 June 1986 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS.

For spares: Before Installation in an Aircraft.

The contents of this AD have been superseded by manufacturer’s actions that must be complied with as required by Civil Aviation Regulation 1988, 42V; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
