AD/HS 125/185 High Pressure Oxygen Hoses Inspection (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability:

As specified in FAA AD 97-21-05 Amendment 39-10158.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with FAA AD 97-21-05 Amendment 39-10158.

Compliance:

Prior to further flight.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 22 April 2010.

Background:

This AD requires replacement of all high-pressure oxygen hoses having part number WKA 34609 to prevent leaks in hose assemblies which could result in insufficient oxygen being made available to passengers or crew.  The Requirement document also specifies that no person shall install a high-pressure oxygen hose having part number WKA 34609 on any aeroplane.
