Propeller Governors
| AD/GOV/3 | Speed Adjusting Lever Retention - Modification | 4/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD raised in 1973 against only Para. 4, "Corrective Action" of Woodward Service Bulletin (SB) SB No. 33549 requiring a modification to replace the propeller governor speed-adjusting shaft, speed adjusting lever, retaining ring and lever clamp screw to ensure positive retention of the speed adjusting lever. Compliance was at next overhaul completed after 1 January 1974. Material containing corrective actions to be taken to prevent loosening of the speed adjusting lever have been published since 1970 e.g. Airworthiness Advisory Circular (AAC) 47-2, AD/BEECH 35/30, AD/BEECH 33/10 and AD/BEECH 36/9. Note that listed AD's only required a one-off inspection and not modification and have since been cancelled. Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated and that all affected propeller governors would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
