Propeller Governors

AD/GOV/10 Amdt 1 Governor Flyweight Assembly 4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1995 against McCauley Alert Service Bulletin (SB) SB No. 202C and 214 required replacement of governor flyweight assembly and pilot spool end fitting due manufacturer reports of governor malfunctions caused by separation of the flyweight assembly and/or failure of pilot spool end fitting.

Compliance was: For action in accordance with McCauley Alert SB 202C within 25 hours TIS or at next annual inspection, or within 12 calendar months from
5 January 1995, whichever occurs first.  For action in accordance with McCauley Alert SB 214 within 200 hours TIS or at next annual inspection, or within 12 calendar months from 5 January 1995, whichever occurs first.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated and that all affected propeller governors would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
