AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/GAS/2.

Compressed Gas Cylinders

AD/GAS/2 Filament Wound, Fibre-Glass, High
Pressure Spherical Vessels
2/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 12 February 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1974 required the retirement from service of all filament wound, fibre-glass, high pressure spherical vessels manufactured by Apex Fibre-Glass Products, Cleveland, Ohio, to ensure no vessel remained in service beyond the manufacturers recommended life limit of 3 years.

Compliance was forthwith.

As all affected vessels would have been retired by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
