Franklin Piston Engines

AD/FK-P/1 Air By-Pass Valve - Modification 8/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in1967 against Carson Helicopters Service Bulletin (SB) No. 107 and Franklin SB No. 106 required a modification to prevent the possibility of failure of the induction system air by-pass valve hinge resulting in the valve being drawn into the carburettor and causing loss of engine power.

Compliance was before installation in an aircraft after 15 June 1967.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected engines to have been modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
