AD/FA-200/26 Nose and Main Landing Gear Cylinder Assemblies (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Fuji FA-200 Series Aeroplanes

AD/FA-200/26 Nose and Main Landing
Gear Cylinder Assemblies 8/2009

Applicability:

Model FA-200 aircraft.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd Service Bulletin No. 200-013, dated 28 September 1999, or later JCAB approved revision.

Note:  JCAB AD TCD-5230-2000 refers.

Compliance:

Unless the Detail Instructions of the Requirement document have already been accomplished, within 3 Months after 30 July 2009.  If the epoxy polyamide primer application required by paragraph 12-1(9) and 12-2(9) of the Requirement document has not been done, repeat the Detail Instructions of the Requirement document at intervals not to exceed 1,000 flight hours until the primer is applied.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 July 2009.

Background:

The manufacturer received reports of corrosion on the inside surfaces of the nose and main landing gear cylinder assemblies.
