AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dassault Aviation Falcon 2000 Series Aeroplanes

AD/F2000/23 Engine Cowlings 3/2007

Applicability:

Model Falcon 2000 aircraft, all serial numbers, except aircraft with Modification M2275 incorporated in production or Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin F2000-298 incorporated in service.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of EASA AD 2007-0016.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of
15 March 2007.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 15 March 2007.

Background:

In service reports have indicated that even after implementation of Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin F2000-133 and F2000-166, a potential risk of engine cowlings separation from the aircraft still exists, and could result in damage to the engine and horizontal stabiliser.  Additional modification action is required by this Directive.
