AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dassault Aviation Falcon 2000 Series Aeroplanes

AD/F2000/15 Elevator Auxiliary Artificial Feel Unit 7/2006

Applicability:

Falcon 2000 aircraft fitted with elevator auxiliary artificial feel unit (AFU) part number (P/N) 105045-10.

Requirement:

Replace the AFU P/N 105045-10 with AFU P/N 105045-13.

Note 1:  DGAC AD 98-428-007(B) refers.

Compliance:

Before exceeding 2000 landings.

Note 2:  The AFU P/N 105045-10 has a life limit of 2000 landings.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 6 July 2006.

Background:

During a routine inspection it was revealed that a bushing on the elevator auxiliary artificial feel unit was broken.  This could affect the elevator neutral position in the case of a linkage disconnection upstream of the servo actuator.
