AD/F100/66 Wing Rear Spar Lower Girder (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | All Model F28 Mk 0070 and F28 Mk 0100 aircraft. |
Requirement: | 1. Inspect the wing rear spar lower girder between STA 8700 and STA 9200, in accordance with Part 1 of Section 3 Accomplishment Instructions of Fokker Services Service Bulletin (SB) F100-57-038, dated 15 April 2005, or later 2. If corrosion is found, remove the corrosion in accordance with Part 2 of Section 3 Accomplishment Instructions of SB F100-57-038, or later CAA-NL approved revision. Measure the damage and if the damage limits are not exceeded, the aircraft may be returned to service after restoration of the surface protection. 3. If damage limits are exceeded, contact Fokker Services and repair in accordance with the repair advice as provided by Fokker Services. 4. Irrespective of the results, report all findings to Fokker Services. Note: Netherlands CAA AD NL-2005-006 refers. |
Compliance: | 1. At the next scheduled or unscheduled maintenance check within 4,000 flight hours after 7 July 2005, but not later than 15 April 2007. 2. Before further flight. 3. Before further flight. 4. Within 7 days after the inspection. |

Background: | The Netherlands CAA received reports of corrosion of the wing spar lower girder between wing stations STA 8700 and STA 9200. Such corrosion, if undetected, could lead to deterioration of the structural strength of the wing rear spar. |
