AD/ERJ-190/5 Forward and Rear Door Emergency Evacuation Slide Packs (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Embraer ERJ-190 Series Aeroplanes

AD/ERJ-190/5 Forward and Rear Door Emergency
Evacuation Slide Packs 5/2008

Applicability:

All Model ERJ-190 aircraft, equipped with forward and rear door emergency evacuation slide pack part number 104003-1 and 104005-1; and any slide pack part number 104003-1 and 104005-1 held as spares.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of Brazil ANAC AD 2006-05-03.

Note:  Goodrich Alert Service Bulletin No. 25A364 original issue, or later FAA approved revision, refers.

Compliance:

Unless already accomplished, within 90 days after 10 April 2008.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 May 2008.

Background:

The manufacturer received reports of the emergency evacuation slide not deploying due to extra lacing cord installed in the slide packs.
