AD/EMY/9 Life Jackets - Modification 3/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 12 March 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, raised in 1973, required a modification to RFD type Mk.2 life jackets by replacement of existing nominal 33 gram carbon dioxide cylinder with an approved 45 gram cylinder that is charged to 35 grams.  This modification was the result of testing that revealed inadequate full opening of the jacket valise which resulted in unsatisfactory floatation posture.

Compliance was at the next reconditioning of the life jacket after 31 January 1973.

As all affected life jackets would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
