AD/EMY/19 Life Jackets Inspection Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/EMY/19.

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 12 March 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1983 against Beaufort Air Sea Equipment Service Bulletin (SB) No. 043. SB No.43 required replacement of Beaufort Air Sea Equipment Life Jackets Mk.8E (W) fitted with either a plastic or die-cast Knapp Monarch operating mechanism, P/Nos. KN-A138 and KN-A135, due to the possibility of the firing pin not puncturing the CO2 cylinder.

Compliance was within 12 months after 30 September 1983.

As all affected life jackets would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
