AD/EMY/17 Life Jackets Retirement Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/EMY/17.

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 12 March 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1981 required removal from service or repair of Beaufort (Air-Sea) Equipment life jackets Mk. 8E manufactured in 1971 as significant percentage of jackets found to be defective on inspection, due to adhesive deterioration.

Compliance was in accordance with a programme acceptable to the Secretary.

As all affected life jackets would have been retired or repaired by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
