AD/EMB-145/6 Wiring Harness W407 (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Embraer EMB-135 and EMB-145 Series Aeroplanes

Applicability: | EMB-145( ) aeroplanes, serial numbers 145004 through 145129 inclusive. |
Requirement: | If not previously accomplished, modify the routing of wiring harness W407 at the rear of both engines, near the fire extinguishing tube, and install new supports to the derivations of harness W407 that go to connectors P0321, P0915 and P0819, in accordance with the detailed instructions and procedures described in Embraer Service Bulletin 145-71-0008, original issue, or later revisions approved by the Brazilian Departamento de Aviação Civil (DAC) - Centro Técnico Aeroespacial (CTA) or Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC). |

Compliance: | Within the next 5,000 hours time in service after 17 November 2005 (the effective date of DAC AD 2005-10-05). |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 31 July 2008. | |
Background: | It has been found the incidents of chafing of the harness W407 with the supports and the nacelle structure at the engine area have occurred, resulting in uncommanded in-flight engine shutdowns. |
