AD/EMB-145/10 Pilots Seat Tracks (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Embraer EMB-135 and EMB-145 Series Aeroplanes

Applicability: | All Embraer EMB-145 aircraft. |
Requirement: | Inspect and/or modify of the flightcrew seats and seat tracks in accordance with Brazilian Airworthiness Directive 2002-09-01R1, effective date 2 June 2004. Note: Brazilian AD 2002-09-01R1 and Sicma Aero Seat SB 147-25-020 refer. |
Compliance: | Carry out required actions at the intervals specified in Brazilian Airworthiness Directive 2002-09-01R1. |

Background: | Flight crew have found difficulty locking their seats during adjustment due to damage in the seat track locking holes, which can cause the seat to slide during the aircraft operation, with the risk of loosing control during a critical phase of the flight. |
