Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) Series Helicopters

AD/ECUREUIL/40 Tail Rotor Gearbox Casing 10/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 25 September 2008.

Background:

This AD, issued in 1987, required a repeat inspection for cracking of the tail rotor gear box casing in accordance with Aerospatiale Service Bulletin 05.18 until modified.  The requirements of this Service Bulletin have now been included in the maintenance manual and the manufacturer no longer circulates it to new operators.  The AD compliance required inspection every 50 hours time in service until modified.  Modification was required prior to exceeding 1100 hours time in service or 100 hours time in service after 25 November 1987.

As the requirements of the AD are now contained in the maintenance manual, this AD is no longer required.
