AD/Do 328/63 Wing Rib 21 Fuel Leaks (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes

AD/DO 328/63 Wing - Rib 21 Fuel Leaks 7/2006

Applicability:

Dornier 328-100 aeroplanes.

Requirement:

1.    Unless previously accomplished, carry out a visual inspection of L/H and R/H outboard wing Rib 21 for fuel leakage in accordance with Dornier 328 Alert Service Bulletin No. ASB-328-57-020 dated 28 October 1997 or later LBA approved revision.

2.    Repeat the visual inspection detailed in Requirement 1 of this AD.

Note:  LBA AD 1998-020 refers.

Compliance:

1.    Within 30 days after the effective date of this AD.

2.    At each “5A check” or at intervals not to exceed 6 months, whichever occurs first.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 6 July 2006.

Background:

Fuel leakage has occurred at Rib 21 on the L/H wing.  This AD requires a repetitive inspective for fuel leaks.
