AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes

AD/DO 328/51 Cockpit Seat Restraint System 3/2006

Applicability:

Model 328-100 aircraft, serial numbers 3053, 3054, 3066, and 3070; equipped with cockpit seat restraint systems part number 1180002-403-100 with serial numbers 0197 through 0203.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with LBA AD 97-239.

Note:  Dornier Service Bulletin No. 328-25-222 refers.

Compliance:

Before 31 March 2006, unless already accomplished.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 March 2006.

Background:

The manufacturer has determined that some delivered cockpit seat restraint systems may not meet the requirements of Technical Standard Order TSO C22g.
