AD/Do 328/49 Cockpit Seat Belt Buckle Centre Screw (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | All Model 328-100 aircraft, equipped with ARC cockpit seat restraint system part number 1180002-403-100 serial numbers 0101 through 0315, 0328, and 0329. |
Requirement: | Action in accordance with LBA AD 97-001. Note: Dornier Service Bulletin No. 328-25-196 refers. |
Compliance: | Before 31 March 2006, unless already accomplished. |

Background: | The manufacturer has determined that the centre fixing screw of the cockpit seat belt release buckle may have become contaminated during assembly, preventing the securing loctite from curing. Loosening of the screw could cause the buckle to become inoperative. |
