AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes

AD/DO 328/46 Ground Spoiler Support Arms 3/2006

Applicability:

Model 328-100 aircraft, serial numbers 3005, 3009, 3016, 3024 through 3027, 3031, 3034 through 3036, 3040 through 3042, 3046, 3048 through 3050, 3054, 3062, 3063, 3066, 3067, 3069, 3071, 3074, 3078 through 3083, 3085, 3086, 3090 through 3098, 3100, 3101, 3103, 3104, 3106, 3107, 3109, 3110, 3112, 3113, 3115, 3117, and 3119.

Requirement:

Inspect Support Arms No. 3 and No. 8 on Ground Spoiler Assemblies No. 1 and
No. 2, in accordance with Dornier 328 Service Bulletin No. SB-328-57-435.

Note:  LBA AD 2002-258 refers.

Compliance:

Upon the accumulation of 4,000 flight cycles.  Repeat thereafter at intervals not to exceed 1,000 flight cycles.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 March 2006.

Background:

The manufacturer received reports of cracks in Ground Spoiler Support Arms No. 3 and No. 8.
